Requirements Capture Support

Many people know roughly what they or their organisation need. However, what is possible or feasible is also changing because both software and hardware technology, and also our understanding of how to apply them are moving forward and developing continuously. This means that many different structures and processes can be supported or automated which were previously outside the scope of what was considered possible.

It is unreasonable to expect people managing the operation of an organisation to know the tools and techniques available to implement complex systems, or how quickly and easily a system can be implemented. How then can it be reasonable to expect such people to know the right questions to ask when they need to specify new systems.

We have extensive experience of a very wide range of tools and techniques and their practical application in more than 50 projects. This gives us a very different perspective on the analysis of peoples’ requirements. We know a great deal about what can be practically implemented in reasonable timescales and at what cost; and what benefits are likely to be possible.

We are very experienced at listening and achieving an understanding of the specific details of each problem and its different features. We have the independance to give impartial advice. We can help organisations formalise their thinking and requirements. We can help write requirements and specifications documents, and advise what are good questions to ask of potential suppliers. We can also help in reviewing and evaluating suppliers responses. As stated above, the most important thing is to get each project working on the right problems.
