Our Focus
Our primary focus is always the customer’s aims. Business people may feel intuitively that their business could do better and may have found themselves questioning aspects of their business:
- Could throughput on their production lines be improved?
- Is there a better way to manage staff rostering and overtime requirements?
- Could their staff waiting times or transit times be reduced?
- Are many of their empty vehicle miles avoidable?
- Is it possible to reduce movement of their stock between warehouses or depots?
It is unrealistic for business people know what optimisation can do in practice for their business – they are the business expert, why should they know about this complex, rapidly changing area, requiring specialist knowledge and experience. At the level of business benefits and project risk, the choice of one modelling approach or algorithm over another is not a primary concern.
