Integration

It is not unusual for a system implementation to be a technical success and still fail to achieve the level of acceptance in their intended group of users or deliver the benefits that were hoped for. This is often because insufficient consideration was given to how the system was actually going to be used rather than how the designers expected it to be used. As a result, many of these technical successes never fully translate into real business successes.

Every new system or upgrade will impact on all the other systems nearby. Every system in effect “moves its own goal posts” as soon as it is implemented!
